Night Photography Assignment 01

Apoligies for the lack of postings. I have a major academic deadline on March 10 and i've been working around the clock. I probably won't have time to post much until then. However I have some photos to put up over the next few days.
I'm currently taking a photgraphy course at Focal Point here in vancouver. This week we had an assignment due on the subject of night photography. So i will be posting some of my images from that assignment. We had a "no photoshop allowed" policy on this assignment which really makes you pay more attention while taking the photos. Something i that i really need to practice :P
This photo was taken on Granville Island. A very very photogenic area both during day and night. As a last minute attempt to finish my assignment, i was there last night from around 2am-4am. It was quiet except for the bakery and the local security guard. Actually i was taking this photo, squatting in front of my tripod trying to adjust it when i felt like there was someone around, so i turned around and he was standing beind me. didnt even notice him at first cuz he was standing so still. creep me out man. but he was friendly and was just curious. chatted with him a bit while taking some of the long exposure pics.
